Overview

Bugaboo is a playful brand with a goal to foster mainstream cultural acceptance of insects as food and break down social barriers, challenge perceptions, and create sensory-driven experiences for the public and future generations to come—all in pursuit of a more sustainable future.

Problem

Audiences in the U.S. are currently unaware of the nutritional and sustainable benefits of incorporating insects into one’s daily meals.

Solution

Make insect food options available for consumption as another healthy addition into our everyday meals and promote the concept of insects as a part of sustainable food systems for the future and establish an approachable and playful franchised accessible norm.

The characters in Bugaboo’s kids' marketing are inspired by elements of the brand’s logo. Featuring three bug motifs—the beetle, the worm, and the ant—the logo design extends throughout the brand identity. These playful characters help engage the next generation in learning about insects through meal inclusions and packaging.
